What are you doing, my dear friends to your little transgressions every day? What are you doing about the angry words you sometimes speak, and the badness that rises up in your hearts, and the many things that you shouldn’t do? Are you going at once and telling your Father who is in Heaven about them? Are you taking this promise in your hands, and asking him for Jesus sake to forgive all your sins and to purify you from all dishonesty. As you admit these sins, the first thing then that comes; the pardon, and He is true and righteous to forgive us our sins and to purify us from all dishonesty.

Children, be sure to take all your little sins to Jesus, you won’t have to wait until the day ends for as you have done anything wrong, you can go to him at once and ask of him to wash away the spots that sin has made in the His own precious blood, for the Father himself loves you for the reason that you love Jesus.

He can be a dear friend that is downcast as was David; you aren’t feeling completely happy; you feel yourself weak and sinful. You feel at times that you aren’t sure of if you are a Christian or not, and you aren’t sure of if you are saved and that worries your mind. Maybe Satan has been telling you that you have been deceiving yourself and that you aren’t Christian, and when you think about your sinful heart, you say “That is surely as it is,” and you are tempted to disbelieve; although you long to be a child of Jesus you cannot feel that you are after all, and so you are downcast.

What a mercy it is that our salvation is not to be set on our own feelings, but on Christ. God allows us to feel like this. It might be so that we can trust in God more, and adhere closer to him. You have been looking at your own heart and your feelings, when it was proper for you to look upon your Saviour, the only thing for you to do, when these troubling thoughts come in, to look away from yourself altogether, and to look to Jesus.

Ny-yeih ta dty pheccaghyn cur snieh er dty aigney, as t’eh cairagh daue dy yannoo shen, agh cha lhisagh oo jannoo mee-chredjue. Cha vel nhee erbee mie aynyds, as cha bee dy bragh. Nevertheless, your sins vex your mind, and it is right for them to do that, but you should not disbelieve. There is nothing good in you, and there will not ever be. All goodness is in Jesus, striving diligently against these sins and bringing them all to Jesus again and again, but do not be forever despondent on account of them.
